I got the job!

I'm so happy! I got offered a part-time evening cashier job at the new Murphysboro Rural King. I have a tentative start date of the week of August 1st. Jarod isn't excited about spending some evenings alone but it will be good for Shane and I can get the extra spending money I have been dreaming about! LOL! So when the new store opens come visit me!

Happy Birthday to my Grandma LaWanda Williams! She has made it to the big 8-0! We threw her a wonderful birthday party on Sunday and it was great to see all of our family together! My dad fried up a butt load of fish and everybody brought a side dish. We even had some cousins drive in from Reno, Nevada! What a surprise it was to see them. I don't think I had even ever met them before. Shane was so good the whole day. Even with no nap!! It was a great time had by all including my grandmother. I don't think she will ever forget this birthday!

10 month pics

We went to JC Penney again and I can't say enough about them! I always think the pictures won't turn out but then they do! Somehow they snap the picture before he crawls away or starts to whine! I didn't buy too many because in 2 more months we will be back for his 1 year pics!

Video Happy

So basically I just figured out how to use the video function on our digital camera. I know I'm way behind the times! So tonight I just got video happy and filmed Shane before bed. He was all clean from his bath and in a good mood!

Nothing much going on around here. Just trying to stay home so we don't have to waste the gas to go anywhere! It really stinks but we are making due. I've found another stay-at-home mom in my neighborhood that has a 2 year old son so we do things together and it helps. She is awesome and we really get along well. If the weather would cool off I could actually stand to go outside and take Shane for a walk or take him to the park. I hate this humidity!

I've decided that I need time away from Shane. I know that sounds wierd because I wanted so desperately to be a stay-at-home mom but he is just so clingy to me that he doesn't even want his dad anymore! I've decided that the best thing for me to do is get a little part-time job in the evenings so that I can get away and have time to myself and give Jarod and Shane some time every week to bond. It's going to be hard for Jarod I know because he'll have to come straight home from work, fix dinner, give Shane his bath and put him to bed. But hopefully in the meantime they can play together and get some father/son time in! I've applied at the new Rural King coming to Murphysboro and I have an interview tomorrow afternoon. I figured this was the perfect part-time job for me because I can work nights and weekends and I won't have to get all "dolled up" for work. I can wear jeans and just stick my hair up in a ponytail! They are only open until 9pm so I won't be home too late at night. I'm praying it all works out! I just want to work somewhere local so I don't have to drive all across Southern Illinois. I'm excited to be making some "fun" money for myself but also it will help Jarod and I live a little more comfortably. Please say a little prayer that I get the job!

Well enough rambling! I've just got a lot on my mind I guess. I'll let everyone know how the interview turns out!

LOL (Laughing out loud!!!)

Shane is FINALLY laughing out loud. Jarod caught this on video before dinner tonight. Basically my youngest brother Garrett was waving the end of a corn dog stick around and Shane thought it was so funny. I couldn't help but smile......and cry! I've been so upset because he never laughs out loud and tonight he finally did it! It made my heart melt :)

4th of July

Our 4th of July was sooo busy! We woke up early on Friday morning and packed up for the day. We drove about an hour to Goreville which is where Jarod's sister and her family live. There was a parade at 1pm and it was great. It tried to spit rain on us but it never poured thank goodness. Shane was just amazed by all of the fire trucks and candy that was thrown to him. His favorite candy was dum dum's! What a mess let me tell you! After the parade we walked back to Jarod's sister's house and had hot dogs on the grill. We hung out until it got dark and watched the fireworks from her backyard. It was sooo nice not to have to drive to a park and fight the crowds of people. I think we will make this an every year tradition. Shane LOVED the big fireworks. But he finally tuckered out about 9:30 pm in his stroller so we piled everything back into the car and drove back to Murphysboro. It was a great day! Hope everyone else had a great 4th!
